Final procedures to start construction of 110 social housing units in Camino de Cortes
A new step towards the construction of 110 social housing units (VPO) in Camino de Cortes.
The developer foundation (Vimpyca) has already submitted the preliminary design for the first of these developments (32 homes), and the timetable it is working to places in this very month of December the submission of the corresponding basic project and application for a building licence, as well as the preliminary design for the second development (78 homes).
In 2023 the Town Council sold this municipal land in the Atalaya area to continue promoting access to housing for groups that need help.
These social housing units (VPO) in Camino de Cortes will join the development of 110 homes that the Town Council handed over in the last quarter of 2022 in the Juan Benítez area.
On another matter, the November full council meeting gave the green light to the initial approval of the modification of a partial plan for the urban development of a plot of 655,250 square metres in the Arroyo Vaquero area, where 683 open-market homes can be built, which must be accompanied by another 518 social housing units (VPO).
There will be a condition that, for the Town Council to grant a first-occupancy licence for a home in this sector, the first-occupancy licence for VPO will have had to be applied for at the same time; that is, a first-occupancy licence will only be granted to open-market homes if the protected homes are finished.
In this way, we guarantee that developers build affordable housing for more groups.
