199 new VPO take a step forward in Estepona
Housing policy is shown through actions.
Two companies have submitted bids in the tender for two municipal plots in Camino de Cortes, where 199 social housing (VPO) homes are planned: 160 in one development and 39 in the other.
And with a clear priority: that the final price for buyers be as low as possible.
This progress is part of a broader plan that currently includes 1,200 VPO in the pipeline in the short and medium term, after years of work to make municipal land available for protected housing.
In addition, construction of another 117 VPO in Camino de Cortes is already being processed, while new projects are being promoted in different areas of the municipality.
The Town Council has also approved the compatibility of use of 36 municipal plots, which could allow hundreds of protected homes to be developed, and continues working on projects that include 300 VPO in Camino de Monterroso and another 800 in Guadalobón and Arroyo Vaquero.
Faced with this commitment to generating land and promoting protected housing, the current governing team has pointed out that the urban planning decisions taken under the Socialist governments of 2005 to 2007 meant that Estepona lost, by its calculations, the possibility of reserving land for 1,527 VPO linked to 13 partial plans that provided for 5,089 homes.
Today we continue working so that more young people, families and residents can access protected housing in Estepona.
More land. More protected housing. More opportunities for the people of Estepona.
