Estepona activates a special operation to clean and repair paths, river crossings and beaches after the heavy rains

Estepona Town Council has activated a special operation to clean and repair paths and crossings over rivers and streams that have been affected by the heavy rains.
To this end, it has deployed personnel from the Municipal Operations Brigades, who are working in the Cala Alta area, where landslides have been recorded. Work is also under way at the four crossings in Guadalobón, and the two on the río Monterroso.
Machines are removing the accumulated earth in order to then go on to repair the damage to the paths, which will make it easier for residents living in these affected areas to get around.
The cleaning and repair tasks, which are being dealt with according to the most urgent needs, will continue in the coming days, once the flow of the rivers and streams has also dropped.
Likewise, cleaning work has begun on the beaches, where a large amount of rubbish and reeds has accumulated.
Workers are removing plastic debris, in order to then proceed to remove plant debris using machinery, although for this it will be necessary to wait for the flow of water carried by rivers and streams to drop.
The Town Council has also reopened the municipality’s parks, which were closed as a precaution on Saturday in anticipation of heavy rainfall.
