Estepona Town Council is stepping up the cleaning and removal of the invasive Asian seaweed from our beaches; a necessary task to preserve environmental quality and the public’s enjoyment in the face of the massive arrival of this species.

This work represents a significant effort of municipal means and resources in response to a problem affecting numerous points along the Spanish coast.

We therefore reiterate the need for the central Government to adopt measures and put together a coordinated response to tackle this invasive species, with sufficient resources for its removal, management and prevention.
