We will build a storm tank to prevent flooding in the event of a DANA.

Estepona Town Council is going to build a new hydraulic infrastructure intended to protect the western area of the old town against possible flooding caused by DANA episodes or torrential rain.

It is a tank (known as a storm tank) that will increase the capacity of the current stormwater network in this area.

Specifically, it will be able to temporarily store excess rainwater in cases of heavy rainfall and, together with an underground pumping system, will help prevent possible overloads in the sewer network and, therefore, waterlogging.

The project has been commissioned from Hidralia, the company holding the water service concession, and will cost close to €950,000, financed from the local improvement levy.

The so-called storm tank will be located at the low point formed by avenida San Lorenzo at its junction with calle Real.
