García Urbano begins the election campaign with the priority objective of the University and for citizens to value what has been achieved in Estepona
The Popular Party leader has said that “we want the historic change to continue and the town to remain a benchmark in quality of life and well-being”.
The mayor of Estepona and candidate for re-election for the PP, José María García Urbano, has announced that a “decisive election campaign to guarantee the future of Estepona” is beginning. The Popular Party leader, who aims for re-election as mayor, has said that “we want the historic change to continue and the town to remain a benchmark in quality of life and well-being”.
García Urbano recalled that “we have achieved a great deal in these 12 years of government and we have many projects ahead”. Thus, he referred to the priority objective of turning Estepona into a university town, with grants for students from Estepona.
He also mentioned the aim of putting the finishing touch to the great urban transformation through the extension of the great urban boulevard; the creation of more necessary facilities; strengthening services in the town and on the outskirts; as well as reaching ‘zero inherited debt’ to pay off the entire 304 million euros that the Town Council owed in June 2011 and which has already been reduced to 49 million.
The Popular Party candidate highlighted that “we have a great record of management in these 12 years, in which the town has experienced its greatest process of transformation and improvement”. For this reason, he asked that, on 28 May, citizens “value everything we have achieved so that we can continue working together on the future of the town”.
