Estepona has memory. And it also has a future.
We continue working to enhance our seafaring identity and preserve the heritage that forms part of our history.
That is why the Town Council has launched the tender to acquire a new traditional purse-seine fishing boat, which will replace the current one on one of the roundabouts of avenida Puerta del Mar.
It will be a real boat, traditionally used on the Mediterranean coast, between 11 and 13 metres in length, which will be refitted to remain on display as a sculptural and museum piece.
The tender has a budget of €68,970, VAT included, and interested companies may submit their bids until 24 August.
It is not just about replacing a boat.
It is about keeping alive the memory of our fishermen, of our tradition and of our relationship with the sea.
