Taking part in the 49th Plenary of the Council of Europe Congress: local commitment from the FEMP

Very interesting 49th Plenary of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, in which I am taking part as a member of the Spanish delegation, coordinated by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP).
This session is being held at the Palais de l’Europe coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the European Charter of Local Self-Government, the text on self-government of local authorities drawn up by the Council of Europe, which 46 member countries have already ratified.
Today issues such as attacks on freedom of expression at political meetings and Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine have been addressed.
