Estepona Town Council grants 10% more opening licences for new businesses than in 2024

Estepona Town Council has authorised so far this year 10% more opening licences for new establishments in the city than in the same period last year. Specifically, more than 200 permits have been approved, consolidating a growth trend that has been seen in recent years. This means that a new business opens in the city every day and a half, while existing ones continue to consolidate.

On another note, Estepona has achieved record figures for self-employed workers, who have grown by 4% in the last year alone, to 6,838. The figure is especially significant in comparison with 2011. According to data from the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, over the last 14 years the number of people registered in the self-employed scheme in Estepona has grown by 45%.
